Review US and Canadian contract taxes from mobile

Keep the original agreement, review its taxes in the authorised web workspace and refresh the native result without duplicate billing.

Before you start

Check the active business, agreement and billing period or visit. Have the applicable business tax policy and line treatments confirmed. The web-review action depends on the installed app version and your existing access; opening a guide does not grant billing permission.

Plan eligibility, business features, permissions and device support still apply. Reading a guide does not grant access.

Step by step

  1. Attempt the intended agreement invoice action only once. If Review invoice taxes on the web appears, read its result: no invoice was created. Keep that agreement and the selected visit, period or prepaid-pack context.
  2. Choose Open tax review where offered. This opens the web application; sign in normally and select the same business. Do not pass credentials or tokens manually, and do not use an unrelated business to get past a refusal.
  3. Check the agreement or source document identity. Review the selected policy revision and the treatment of every applicable line. Save the reviewed classification using the web controls. For a draft document, incomplete taxes must be resolved before final issue.
  4. Return to the app and choose Refresh agreement after review. Inspect the refreshed agreement and existing invoice list before deciding whether the original action still needs to be submitted. A browser closing or a link opening is not a successful invoice result.
  5. Open any resulting invoice and check currency, lines, tax components, period or visit and outstanding amount. If the app or web response is uncertain, refresh the original record instead of creating a replacement agreement, pack or invoice.

Worked example

An authorised office user requests an invoice for an unclassified Canadian service agreement. The app directs them to review the same agreement on the web. They save the reviewed treatments, return and refresh before invoicing the intended period. The example does not prescribe Canadian rates or establish which supplies are taxable.

This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer testimonial.

Check the result

Check the original record after returning. Invoice creation, finalization, customer delivery, payment and accounting export are separate events. Existing country, provider, role and plan restrictions continue to apply.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • If Open tax review is absent in an older app, open the same agreement through the signed-in web workspace and update the app when a compatible release is available. Do not recreate the agreement to work around missing review controls.
  • If the business or permissions change while reviewing, return to the intended authorised context and reload. A stale review must be checked again; do not re-enter an arbitrary rate merely to make the action succeed.
  • This companion describes the native handoff and browser return. The linked screenshot walkthrough shows the web interface only; it is not evidence of native device capture or of an external payment or export.

Business settings in United States

  • Set your business country in Business settings before entering customer addresses or preparing documents. The country selected on the public website does not change an existing business.
  • Check the business currency (USD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
  • Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.
  • Review a draft document with a known subtotal and expected tax before sending it. New US and Canadian documents require a reviewed business tax policy and explicit line treatments. This component calculation uses before-tax amounts; tax-inclusive and tax-on-tax calculations are not supported. A document display preference does not replace tax classification; address entry is not an automatic determination of which taxes you owe.
  • For work across states, provinces or tax jurisdictions, have your accountant confirm the required rates and treatment. Do not assume one business default covers every job or that selecting a state or province calculates its tax obligations.
