Business access and account settings on mobile

Separate personal device settings from shared business administration, and preserve pending work when changing context.

Before you start

Confirm which business is active before changing shared information. Personal preferences, business profile data, role permissions and subscription billing are different settings. A visible help page does not grant management authority.

Plan eligibility, business features, permissions and device support still apply. Reading a guide does not grant access.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings and choose Personal for device or account preferences, or Business for shared business administration.
  2. Under Personal, use the available App lock — PIN & biometrics, Two-factor authentication, appearance and layout controls. Customise tabs and Customise menu affect navigation preferences, not permission to access hidden business functions.
  3. Under Business, open Business details only if your account has management access. Check the actual business contact details and address before saving; owner-only branding and pricing controls retain their own restrictions.
  4. Use Team for permitted team administration and Manage organisations for the businesses available to your account. Before changing context, review Sync centre and outstanding uploads so pending records remain associated with their original business.
  5. Use the web Business settings and Billing pages for configuration not offered by the native screen. In particular, do not substitute an Australian identifier field for a foreign tax registration or assume a sample Australian address sets your country.
  6. When signing out, read any unsynced-record warning. Stay signed in and sync first where possible. If records belong to another business or account, return to that original context to resolve them rather than attempting to send them under the current one.

Worked example

An owner changes the company phone number in Business details, then checks the saved profile. A technician changes the app appearance in Personal without changing company branding or gaining office permissions.

This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer testimonial.

Check the result

Reopen the changed settings and verify the saved value in the correct business. Check document previews separately after changing customer-facing business details; a personal display preference does not change an issued document.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • If a management control is absent or access is refused, ask the business owner to review the role instead of switching records or accounts to bypass the restriction.
  • Country, currency, invoice tax and subscription billing require deliberate business configuration. The public website region and the phone location do not migrate existing documents or change a business’s tax obligations.
  • Delete account and cancelling a subscription are different actions. Do not use account deletion as a substitute for billing cancellation. Inspect the web Billing or Business settings Danger zone when managing the subscription, and review the stated effect before confirming.

Business settings in United States

  • Set your business country in Business settings before entering customer addresses or preparing documents. The country selected on the public website does not change an existing business.
  • Check the business currency (USD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
  • Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.
  • The included plan allowances remain available. Additional Office-user, storage-block and credit-pack purchases are not yet configured in local currency; Australian add-on examples are not an offer to charge your account in AUD.
