Before you start
Availability: Plan and role requirements vary. Enabled business features, role permissions, connected providers and supported devices may add requirements.
Documented roles: Owner, Office, Team. A role name alone does not override the permissions set by your business.
Where to find it: Use the on-site calculators.
Check dimensions and units from the actual site or drawing. Confirm the active business currency and tax setup.
Using this guide in United States
- Choose your business country when creating a new account. For an existing business, check the country in Business settings before entering addresses or preparing documents. Some country changes are unavailable for existing businesses, even when new accounts can sign up in that country. Changing the public website region does not change your business settings.
- Check the business currency (USD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
- Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.
Step by step
- Open Calculators from Apps and select the relevant tool.
- Choose the correct units, then enter and check the source dimensions, quantities, rates or percentages.
- Review the result with its units and the business tax configuration. Record the useful result against the intended work where appropriate.
- Build and review a quote or invoice separately when making a commercial offer; a calculator result does not create one.
Worked example
For a drawing marked in metres, enter 2.5 m by 4 m and check the 10 m² area result. Record the units with the quantity, then price the actual scope in a separate quote.
This is an illustrative scenario. Use your own approved scope, quantities, rates and business rules.
Check the result
Reopen the original record or confirmed result, check its business and key values, and resolve any error or uncertain response before repeating the action.
Limits and troubleshooting
A dollar symbol does not identify every currency. A quick calculation is not an issued quote, tax advice or proof of a measured site condition.
