Technician knowledge base

Publishes how-to articles, videos and links the crew can open from the office or the field app.

Keep business procedures and reference links available to the people doing the work.

Before you start

Availability: Starter plan and above. Enabled business features, role permissions, connected providers and supported devices may add requirements.

Documented roles: Owner, Office, Field. A role name alone does not override the permissions set by your business.

Where to find it: Jobs Lifecycle > Technician knowledge base.

Check the intended business, category and audience. Owners or authorised business managers can create entries; field users read entries published for their audience.

Using this guide in Canada

  • Choose your business country when creating a new account. For an existing business, check the country in Business settings before entering addresses or preparing documents. Some country changes are unavailable for existing businesses, even when new accounts can sign up in that country. Changing the public website region does not change your business settings.
  • Check the business currency (CAD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
  • Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.

Step by step

  1. Open Knowledge at /knowledge.
  2. Add a category, then New entry, and write the article or paste a video, file or link.
  3. Publish the entry when the crew should see it. Drafts stay in the manage view.
  4. Field users open the same published entries from the app knowledge list.

Worked example

Create a draft equipment procedure with a descriptive title and a manufacturer reference link. Review the instructions and audience before publishing it.

This is an illustrative scenario. Use your own approved scope, quantities, rates and business rules.

Check the result

Open the published entry with an intended reader account. Confirm that the article and reference link are accessible and that unrelated drafts remain private.

Limits and troubleshooting

Publishing an article does not verify its technical accuracy. External resources keep their own access requirements. Review safety-critical instructions with the responsible qualified person.
