Create a job on the mobile app

Capture work with or without a customer, enter the site address, and confirm the original save before creating another job.

Before you start

Sign into the intended business with permission to create jobs. Prepare a useful job name and the work-site address. A customer, schedule date and fixed-price estimate are optional; a Field seat does not gain Office creation permissions by opening this guide.

Plan eligibility, business features, permissions and device support still apply. Reading a guide does not grant access.

Step by step

  1. Open Jobs and choose New job. Use New quote only when you intend to prepare an estimate; a quote and a job are different records.
  2. Enter a recognisable job name, such as Office entrance paving. Choose the existing customer, add a customer, or leave No client — add one later selected.
  3. Check the site address. For an existing customer, confirm whether the work takes place at the customer address or a different site. Without a customer, enter the site directly.
  4. Type at least three address characters to request available suggestions, then select the correct result. Suggestions use the business country. If none are available, enter the full address manually, including the locality, state or province where applicable and postal code.
  5. Add the scope notes. If scheduling now, use the displayed YYYY-MM-DD date format; otherwise leave the date blank. Review any fixed-price estimate separately from a customer quote or invoice.
  6. Tap Create job once and wait for the outcome. A confirmed online creation opens the job. A saved-on-device or waiting-for-confirmation message requires the recovery checks below.

Worked example

An office user captures a paving enquiry before the customer details are known. They enter the site and scope, keep No client selected, then open the confirmed job and later link the customer. They do not create another job merely to correct its name.

This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer testimonial.

Check the result

Reopen the original job and confirm its job number, name, site and business. A typed address is not proof of verified map coordinates. Before invoicing or contacting the customer, complete and review the customer details.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • If the response is uncertain, use Job save → Check original save. Restore saved details recovers the earlier input; Open original job opens a confirmed result.
  • Keep earlier save and start a separate job is for genuinely separate work. It is not the normal retry button. An uncertain response can mean the server saved the original even though the phone missed its reply.
  • If creation is unavailable, check business access and limits with the owner. If suggestions are absent, manual entry remains available; do not select an unrelated address to make the form proceed.

Business settings in New Zealand

  • Set your business country in Business settings before entering customer addresses or preparing documents. The country selected on the public website does not change an existing business.
  • Check the business currency (NZD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
  • Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.
  • Enter the complete street, locality, state or province where applicable, and postal code. If suggestions are unavailable, use manual entry and check the saved address. A saved address without verified coordinates should not be treated as a confirmed map pin or routing destination.
