Log time and review location suggestions on mobile
Record hours against a job or category and check suggested visits before they become time entries.
Before you start
Check the business, worker, date and work allocation. Use actual attendance, break and job records to support your entry. Access to another worker’s hours, cost rates or approval controls depends on your role.
Plan eligibility, business features, permissions and device support still apply. Reading a guide does not grant access.
Step by step
- Open Timesheets and choose the relevant date or period. If Showing saved data appears, reconnect and refresh before relying on current totals.
- Choose Log time for hours that were not already clocked. Select the job or category first, then check the date and enter the hours and an explanatory note.
- Enter decimal hours: 2.5 means two hours and thirty minutes, not two hours and fifty minutes. Review the duration before saving.
- Use the save action and read its response. Time logged is different from Saved — will sync when back online. Check the entry after the queue has synced.
- Where location suggestions are available, compare each suggested site visit and duration with the work actually performed. Use Adjust to correct the duration or Accept only for supported time.
- Review the resulting day and job totals for duplicates or missing allocations. Office review, billing and payroll are separate workflows; confirm the appropriate review has occurred before using the hours downstream.
Worked example
A worker spent 2.5 hours on an installation but a location suggestion includes an additional period waiting nearby. They use their work record to adjust the suggestion and check that an earlier manual entry does not already cover the same work.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer testimonial.
Check the result
Reopen the day, job and worker entries and compare the recorded duration with the supporting notes. Unconfirmed location suggestions are not approved payroll hours.
Limits and troubleshooting
- A location signal is evidence of a device position, not proof of productive work or entitlement to pay. Missing location history does not mean no work happened; record supported time through the normal workflow.
- If a queued entry fails, resolve the error and check the original entry before logging the same hours again. Do not clear the device’s pending records to remove an error message.
- Employment rules, paid breaks, overtime, leave and payroll filing differ by country and agreement. The app’s time records do not establish local payroll compliance; the business must review its settings and connected payroll process.

Business settings in Canada
- Set your business country in Business settings before entering customer addresses or preparing documents. The country selected on the public website does not change an existing business.
- Check the business currency (CAD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
- Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.
