Preview an existing quote file and map its content before creating AllQuote records.

Before you start

Availability: Plan and role requirements vary. Enabled business features, role permissions, connected providers and supported devices may add requirements.

Documented roles: Owner, Office, Team. A role name alone does not override the permissions set by your business.

Where to find it: Import existing quotes.

Keep the original source file and obtain permission to use its content. Confirm the active business.

Using this guide in Canada

  • Choose your business country when creating a new account. For an existing business, check the country in Business settings before entering addresses or preparing documents. Some country changes are unavailable for existing businesses, even when new accounts can sign up in that country. Changing the public website region does not change your business settings.
  • Check the business currency (CAD), time zone and document tax settings. Only enable tax collection if your business is registered and the settings match your requirements. Your customer invoice tax settings are separate from tax on your AllQuote subscription.
  • Screenshots use demonstration records. Their sample currency, addresses and tax amounts do not override your business settings.

Step by step

  1. Open Import quotes with quote-creation permission. Choose the supported CSV or quote document workflow.
  2. Upload the intended file, review the extracted fields or column mapping and inspect the preview for customers, lines, quantities and prices.
  3. Correct missing or ambiguous details before committing the import. Check any intended job attachment; an incompatible or inaccessible job is not a valid target.
  4. Open the resulting quote and review its scope, currency, tax and totals. Use the import batch history to inspect or recover the original attempt before repeating it.

Worked example

Import a small fictional CSV quote with separate labour and material rows, correct the column mapping in preview, then open the resulting draft and compare quantities, currency, tax and totals with the source.

This is an illustrative scenario. Use your own approved scope, quantities, rates and business rules.

Check the result

Reopen the original record or confirmed result, check its business and key values, and resolve any error or uncertain response before repeating the action.

Limits and troubleshooting

Extraction is a starting point, not an approved estimate. Importing does not accept or send a quote, and a file preview is not a completed import.
